Pupping to death?

I have a Bengal Tiger sikki tc plant that has never really done well, the other bananas I got from the same seller are growing well, but this one is just not going to make it I think. When I first got it, I noticed that it already had a pup at about 6 inches tall, then the next week it had another pup. Then the pups started dying, and then the main pstem started looking crummy. I took it out of the pot, removed the soil because I suspected root rot, and there are some dead roots, but I noticed it has about 4 more pups trying to come up at only 6 inches tall. Is it possible its pupping itself to death?

Lol! Is it your fertilizer? I wonder what makes plants pup more than the average.

I think it has something to do with the tissue culture process, but I am not sure. I have been able to make some bananas pup more by uncovering the base of the plant. I have a 3 foot tall Basjoo with 9 pups coming up lol, but its a bit more established, and the pups are not sucking all the nutrients out of it.

I have a TC and wonder if I'll have any issues. I hope it has no trouble fruiting. I'd rather have a pupping problem than a fruiting issue.

Probably not, I have about 5 other types of Tissue culture plants, and none of them are putting out pups at such a small size. They seem to be growing well so far, this Sikkimensis is just an oddball lol.

i had one that never did well.it did give a sick looking leaf every 2 or 3 weeks. but the old leaf always died.i would love to get a healthly on to grow here,to see if it can be hardy for this area.

I have 3 sikkimensis started from seed, but they all show major differences while grown under the same conditions. One is skinny with thin leaves, no color, another has reddish undersides on the leaves, and wide leaves, the 3rd is about half as tall as the other two with a reddish stem that does not fade so far, very different like peoples facial features. I imagine cold hardiness will be varied as well, even though they all 3 started from the same batch of seed. Strange plants.
