WANTED: Musa Blue Java ("Ice Cream")

I'm new to the site. I had previously purchased "Ice Cream" bananas from Florida Hill Nursery, but as we all know by now, what they and so many others are selling is NOT Musa Blue Java. Nice plants, but wrong identity.

I'm looking for the real Musa Blue Java. I live in Missouri.

Thanks!

WHAT?! This just ruined my day.

I purchased a Musa Blue Java from Florida Hill Nursery about a a year and a half ago. If it isn't Musa Blue Java, what is it?

Side note, apparently I now also looking for a Musa Blue Java (in Huntington Beach, CA).

It would really surprise me if you do have a Blue Java...Could be a lot but possibly a Namwah.
You need to go on a road trip south for the "real deal"....

Well that would explain why it looks so much like the Namwahs I already have.

Where in Missouri do you live?

Near St. Louis?

I'm late in rejoining the conversation. Yes, Wellspring Gardens and Florida Hill Nursery are definitely NOT selling true Blue Java. I kept the bananas, though, and kept growing them. At a little more than 2 years old, the current generation is about 6-6.5', with leaves arching up another 2 feet or so. No dusty gray/blue appearance, like the Blue Java. Supposedly, they're Dwarf Namwahs, but I can't easily tell the difference between many of these. In my area, only so much will grow on a seasonal basis ... and what does grow darn well better store dry and dark for the winter, or else it won't survive. Bananas, ginger, aroids, etc. Come late October, everything comes indoors or dies outside.

It's going to be 30 degrees F in the morning tomorrow. My Musa zebrina are still in the ground. We'll see if they make it...

Next time I visit my in-laws (Farmington, MO) I will bring a box of corms to the airport for you (If you are interested).

Which types of bananas? I think my wife might kill me if one more plant gets stored indoors for the winter. The finished half of the basement is now blocked with bananas. :-)
