Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
"also, there is one that the fruit has orangey colored flesh??"
Hawaiian Apples have a light orange flesh. The place where I got mine called them "Orange Sherbet" I have Jamaican Reds, Hawaiian Apples and Hawaiian Ice Cream to trade for Heliconias or other tropical splashes of color that are relatively small, say 3 feet or under. |
Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
the best tasting orange-fleshed banana is the Lakatan from the Philippines. It has a lot longer shelf life than the cavendish from grocery stores. Too bad that it is as cold sensitive as the cavendishes, and mine have died out in a pot during the winter and never returned.

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
The Lakatan is a wonderful tasting banana.

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
I have Red Iholene, Misi Luki, Saba, Ice Cream and maybe a Dwarf Jamaican Red for $10 @. If you want to drive up to Lake Worth and get them, I'll cut them off and dig out. Red Iholene, Saba and DJR are already in pots. All are probably 2-3 feet tall.

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
Hi everyone:
I'm also looking to rebuild my collection, as my variegated "namwah" and "zebrina" didn't make it through the winter. I'm looking for: 1. Variegated "namwah" pearl (haven't been able to get it from e-bay) 2. M. zebrina 3. Ensete glaucum. Any help greatly appreciated. Will keep expanding my collection as I move to my new home in Durham, NC this June. Thanks, Carlos(tropicalkid) :D |
Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
Oh wow. You are moving to Durham? I suggest attending one of the NC Palm Society meetings. So they are palms, but most of the members grow bananas as well. I live about an hour west of Durham. Hope the move goes well.

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
Hi Zac:
I will look for them when I move. Thanks for the good wishes. So far almost everything has ben taken care off. I'm still looking for auto transport companies in the area because I need to move an old car I'm restoring (my other hobby besides bananas:D ). If you or some friend of yours happens to know of a local u-pull it junkyard in the Durham area, Please let me know. Or if you know of a junkyard, even if it is a non "you pull-it" junkyard, that stocks american cars from the 60's better yet!!! I have a '63 Mercury Monterey "Breezeway" 4-door S-55 (low production model) and body parts are kind of very hard to get! Thanks, Carlos(bond007pr) |

I have Brazilian Dwarf & Regular. Saba 1000 Finger |
Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
I have lots of tall Orinoco's popping up this year. I'd be glad to try to send one or two. I'd only want money if they made the journey okay... :-) I get WAYYYY too attached to these plants.

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
AnnaJW, Would they be Dwarf Orinoco? I barely have any money, but I will try too find some because I love Dwarf Orinoco, almost as much as Cali Gold:ha: Please let me know!

Re: WANTED: Banana Pups....
Hi Taylor,
These are the big Orinoco guys, not Dwarf. |
