Ueberwinden

This last winter was quite rough for me, it wasn't the weather that really hurt, it was a mouse that decided that my grow room would be his winter home. This unwanted guest started out quietly out of sight, but then made his presence known in a big way. I started seeing stalks of plants leaning over, it seems that he became quite hungry and my bananas, alocasia, and colocasia were quite appealing to him. I put down sticky traps which have worked in the past, but he seemed to avoid all of them while he grazed on the buffet of green. I lost my Thai Blacks, my snow banana, ruby reds, and Borneo giants. If anyone has any extras I would be interested, I really don't want to purchase them per tray this season and start over. I do have pink china colocasia that have come back this season that i would be willing to trade for and could send pics if interested. Thank you for your time.

I don't know how to recover your bananas, but I've heard that the little critters find peanut butter very enticing. Put a little under the trigger on a regular (non-glue) trap so the little bugger has to move the trigger a little to get to the peanut butter. It doesn't take much for the scent to carry to his lair. If you are the squeamish type and don't use the traps that will smash the little pest to mush, put it in the center of the glue trap to get his attention. Personally, I would have no reservations of killing it if it was killing my 'green' pets.

I'll vouch for the peanut butter being irresistible to little (and not so little) rodents.

We're "lucky" enough to have "Califirnia mice" which share the trees with the squirrels.

So far neither have messed with any of our fruit trees or bananas,
