I almost gave up on the Basjoo's making it over the winter, I thought our
-30ºF days got them. A couple days ago 5-25-19 I saw a little sprout.

DANG!!! I thought basjoos were only good to about -20F.. this is insane. I had great success overwintering mine here, but unfortunately for you, it gets almost 40F colder where you are. I'd still be happy to PM you about my winterization methods though. Also, the orinoco you sent me is awesome. Kept it indoors this winter and now it's back outside with 4 leaves and a pup in a pot. Very happy yours survived as well!!
