Hi all,

I’m in search of Siam Ruby. Does anyone have one available or know where I can find one?

Kane

Plant Delights out of North Carolina typically has them. I believe they may be TC'd, however, and are often very slow to get going. I purchased one from them last spring and every leaf it pushed out burned immediately and it never made it to 1' tall before kicking the bucket. I've been growing bananas for close to 20 years now and it's pretty temperamental from what I can tell.

Been growing bananas since 1990 and finally bought one autumn 2018. It was very efficiently shipped across from Holland to here in the UK, and I gazed at the 60cm (2') beauty for hours. I gave it supplementary artificial light, decent potassiium-rich food to help it through the winter, and baked soil that was hopefully fungus free, however, something killed it during the winter - I know not what - and left me desolate!
These are no doubt staggeringly beautiful plants, but unless you can offer them all sorts of knowledge, experience, luxuries and medical help they are said to be total primadonnas, especially when it comes to getting them through a cool temperate winter. The very best of luck to you Kane, both in securing one and keeping it alive.
PS I see you're in Louisiana. That seems to me to be a pretty good start in providing the conditions this little princess demands!

I'd be interested in trying another one as well. I'll put it in a slightly shadier location this go 'round!
