Default looking for hybrid fruit bananas

It has been a long time but I remember in the 90s that there were several articles about smaller banana trees that had fruit and some candy flavors like butterscotch strawberry chocolate and other flavors-does anyone remember where these plants came from?

Never heard of this but I picture a field of these with a horde of Oompa-Loompas chopping out suckers and fertilizing plants.
