GM is much more sensitive to cool weather than Namwah. If you are truly in zone 10a/b, you will find that in your climate GM grows at half the rate of Namwah.

Definitely worth growing in zone 10. With good care and an "eagle-eye" for nurturing the follow-on year pup it will provide you with fruit every year.

BTW -- you and I are at the same latitude and distance to the ocean, N/S reversed.

My first GM will get top shelf treatment. Pity the polyhouse is only 3.5m tall, otherwise it would live in there.
At least I'm 35m ASL, above the frost line.

I must say a big thank you to everyone that participated in this thread. A govt based agg department came through with the goods, a Big Mike arrived in a TC vial not long ago and it's going great.
Moving on to my next acquisition....

Hey mate how is your Gros Michel going, I've just contacted the DPI where you got your Gros michel, lakatan and saba. I live just down the road from them.
The lakatan and saba you sent me are doing well.
