Why not edible? You're talking about species bananas? But there are cultivars of bananas (diploids and tetraploids) that can form a few pieces of seeds in the fruit. Did no one saw the seeds in banana cultivars? When I was vacationing in Thailand, I always get the seeds in the fruits of the cultivar Namwah.
