Highgate and Dwarf Nam Wah
I am really getting too old to deal with the staking of my massive Gros Michel plants and would love to find smaller replacements. I already have a Dwarf Brazilian and a Becky's Mystery (yeah, I know, probably the same thing) but I find the GM flavor profile quite different and would love some dwarfs (dwarves?) in the same family. Sdarkman from whom I got my original GMs 6 years ago, is sold out on my desires. Anyone else? I am in Los Angeles

Other good short varieties that don’t need propping and do well here are Dwarf Red, Gold Finger and California Gold. I sell all these varieties mentioned but I just don’t have any available now.

Wouldn't dwarf cavendish be similar to GM? I know GM was better than cavendish but at least it wouldn't require propping.

In my experience Dwarf Cavendish doesn't do well here. I grew it for years and it never flowered once. I don't think it likes our cold. At my house it stayed alive but never flowered.

Re: Highgate and Dwarf Nam Wah
I have Dwarf Namwa flowering for the first time now. Will post pics for verification in a couple of weeks. If you can wait I could harvest a pup or 2 by summer. I am looking for Raja Puri or a GM dwarf like you. Have grown Raja Puri previously and really like the plant and fruit.
