Have any of the members ever ordered any plants from a place called Going Bananas located in Homestead, Florida? If so, what is your feedback about them. Thanks, Pete

Pete I ordered a plant from them last month. The plant was healthy and a little bit bigger than an economical TC like from Florida Hills. The shipping followed them receiving my check since they do not take credit cards. I ask a question by email and they were quick to reply.

Trebor: Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear your positive comments. Their website is nice and seem to be very customer friendly. Have a great day, Pete

Pretty much ditto with what Trebor said. Stopped by there last year (early June) since I was passing by and bought 8 plants from them. Don gave me my first taste of lychee then, right off the tree, gave me a few to take home too.
I also see them at a couple of plant sale throughout they year. Always has time to answer all my question (whether banana, lychee or other). Stopped by again just two weeks ago, to get some of their fertilizer to last me until Sept (I will be passing by again then). Don gave my girlfriend and I a couple of mysore bananas to taste (not one that I have growing, tho he offered to make me a good deal on one) and a few lychee from his personal stash (very little crop from his lychee trees this year, like most of that area), both were delicious. Could have spent more time talking plants if the thunder storm coming didn't run us off. Any pictures I have posted of Raja Puri, Gran Nain, Dwarf Red or Dwarf Namwa on this site are from the ones I got 1 year ago from them. DM |

I was most disappointed in the size of the plant from Growing Bananas. I guess for the money I thought it be larger.

I'm not aware of any mislabeled plants from Going Bananas, which is more than I can say about any other supplier !!
Even AgriStarts (where many of those plants originate) mixes up plants. Things you say on the internet a permanent so I'll leave it there.

I used to buy a few from them, I would buy the 3 plant deal and always got 2 to survive, never got 3 out of three to make it. Since I worked offshore and only a limited time at home, time would'nt allow to send a check, wait for it to clear, recieve the shipment and put them in the ground but they would send me what I needed and I put a check in the mail that day which allowed me to get the naners while I was home and I always followed up to make sure they recieved their money. But last time they would'nt ship until they had the cleared check and since they don't take credit cards, it makes it pretty well impossible for me to buy from them anymore, so I buy from other places now.
