Thanks for the suggestion! We are actually growing what we think is a mysore raspberry, someone at the community garden was nice enough to let us root out a cane. No real fruit production though, probably next spring

If you have the real deal, and good soil, it will explode next year and you will be surprised by how much it gives. Super impressive crop for Florida. It does like afternoon shade for best production.

I am really going off right now! I just got Peanut Butter fruit tree cuttings, Purple Ube Yam bulbils, Maple leaf Chaya cuttings, Purple Possum Passionfruit cuttings, Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry cuttings, Pakistan Mulberry cuttings (from mature fruit producing tree, same with the Everbearing), a new variety of sugarcane (beautiful sunrise color), dragon fruit cuttings, Elderberry cuttings, purple flesh sweet potatoes, and (I think) sword bean seeds.


In all, it’s over 100 cuttings . Yea, I am tired (I know that’s nothing compared to what you do if you have a nursery business) but it was a lot of work potting up

Add that to the longevity spinach, Jerusalem artichokes, Mysore raspberries, jagged leaf Chaya, and pigeon peas I have potted up, the porch is getting full

Not to mention the 24 mature bare root pineapple plants I still need to plant. Lol

I grow several of those including the Ube yam. Last one I pulled right before winter gave me nearly 40 pounds of roots. I have pics somewhere. Wait till the second year if you using bulbils. First year is small in comparison to the second year which really takes off.
100 cuttings should really give you good odds. Hope they grow well for you, dont forget to post updates.

Just be aware that if it’s a tissue culture you could be looking at several years till you see fruit. Grafting is the best way to make them fruit sooner! It is kind of a scam because companies don’t tell you it’s will take forever. I am currently trying to root some cuttings so if I get some to root you are welcome to one (cuttings fruit in the first year)! And you can have scions to graft the tissue culture! Keep us updated on how it grows

Its an 8 foot tree.. and cost accordingly unfortunately! The top 3rd of the trunk was broken, so i still potted it, but emailed TyTy to see what they are willing to do.

I planted two Pakistan Mulberry trees this past November. One didn't make it through the winter so I replaced it with a Valdosta Mulberry that is suppose to be cmore old hardy down to about 10F and have about 3" beerries. My trees are about three feet tall. I got mine from Just Fruits and Exotics.

Damn i hate to hear that! I thought they were pretty cold hardy.. I guess ill see what happens. The plant was pricey (like 130), and supposedly was supposed to be bearing size, but it arrived broken and they dont seem willing to replace it. Not thrilled with their response to "Just prune it and wait 120 days to see if it establishes. "

Thanks Joe.. this is a rooted cutting i believe. I pruned it at the break and potted it up to see what happens. I also am trying to root the broken top..

I don't think its such an issue that its broken. Many mulberries are pruned so that they fork/ branch out in two different directions. Allows more light to get to the fruit and easier access for harvesting.

CountryBoy over in Baldwin County got a two-three foot plant Spring 2020.I visited him mid-late summer last year and it was about 12 feet tall. They grow really fast!

Yea its not so much that im worried about the break, but the fact that i paid about 40 bucks more for the extra size.. Plant was nut packed very well which adds to my disappointment. Oh well.. live and learn!

Anybody had any luck getting their Pakistan Mulberry to fruit? My surviving Pakistan is a medium size, bushy, leafy, healthy tree and has not put out a single berry! My Valdosta in contrast that went into the ground six months later and is a similar size was covered with berries this Spring.

I got my Pakistan Mulberry from Just Fruit and Exotics and am wondering if I got a fake or ripped off. How long does this thing take to fruit?

Pics of your confirmed Pakistan and any description of the plant's characteristics for proper id would be great too!

My Pakistan Mulberry finally put out a couple berries! This at least confirms that it is a Mulberry. I was losing patience. Feeling much better about this plant.

Very odd but the plant shed its Spring leaves over the past month. This past week the little buds started breaking out new leaves and a few berries. The tree is pretty big so I was suprised that I didn't get any fruit in the Spring. Maybe the Paki fruits later than the other Mulberry trees?

Looking forward to see how the fruit develops.

I don't know. It was not grafted. Very fast growing.
