Hey everybody, I'm looking for some dragon fruit cuttings of a known variety here in Canada. Specifically I'm looking for 'American Beauty' 'Physical Graffity' 'David Bowie' and 'Natural Mystic' however I would also be open to some other varieties as well. Any leads would be awesome!!

Pine Island Nursery in Homestead, Florida has quite a variety of Dragon Fruit in stock. Check their web site. Don't know about the shipping.............

Shipping is almost as much as the plants depending on what you order, could be more actually.

I actually tried to order from them at the beginning of the summer. Shipping was $100 but I was willing to pay that to know what I was getting. However I also needed a CITES certificate because they are apparently an endangered species. This was an extra $350 which is just too much money.

Bump. Maybe now that it's winter some Canadians will be bored patrolling the threads and see this...

Pine Island Nursery looks great! Most of the local garden centers around here carry dragon fruit... including HD, but the variety is usually not listed. They are sold as just "dragon fruit". Being a snob I always want to know what the cultivars are. Here's a link to PIN dragon fruit description page:

Maybe growing DF from seed would be your best option? At least for now. I have one healthy plant that I started from seed... of course it has spines and I have no idea if the quality of fruit will be as good as the cultivars. I got it from here:

I thought maybe when you said you'd be open to other varieties you might consider seed.

Buy a bunch, have them woven into a Christmas wreath and ship it as present.

Bamboo of Houston sells a couple known cultivars.. I think they have a site and sell on Ebay.. I'm sure they are more reasonable than Pine Island.. :^)

Does the cutting need roots?

You pay for the plants and all I have to do is send you the branches and I get to keep the plant.
I ship to Manitoba often, I think it cost about $10. New Thread 10 Free DF plants for Christmas to anyone who will send me a wreath.

Check with this place, they say they can ship cutting outside the US (with limitations).

DF are the one thing I don't worry about when shipping or receiving since they can get lost in the mail and still show up in great shape. :^)
