No, I don't know a source for them. We get them locally. You can see them on eBay occasionally, but by and large they are not a regular item on the sale lists of most nurseries online because like the Ae Ae they apparently cannot be tissue cultured. They have to be propagated the old fashioned slow way, by Mother Nature, which makes them relatively expensive. A 6" container here sells for about $13, a gallon for $20

when you bought yours were they little or did you buy the root. the ones i got were in a 4 in pot and they are kind of little.i spent 2.50 for mine, i dont know if they are the same kind or if they are a just different size.

Actually, I have never bought any. My original plant was a gift, a start off of a friend's plant. That's been 8-9 years ago. There is one nursery here that does sell them every season though for the prices listed above. They are plants about 12-15 inches high. Nice size but still expensive as elephant ears go around here.
BTW, these can be grown as aquatic and bog plants, just like colocasias. |
