Default SUGAR CANE!! old heirloom varieties

So yeah! I live in central Florida.
And I've got a wife to be, and a little sucker sprouting out of her.
Here in these parts her family has been growing cane for over a century
And making syrup.
I am lucky enough to have gotten a couple of those cane varieties that
Her grandfather had when he was a kid.

They grow really well and are care free. They are beautiful and flavor full.
You can grow them in large pots too.

Morgan Red, is a beautiful red color cane that has great flavor.
Its a thin cane so you can chew it easy. This is Old! Well over 100 years. it still produces actual flowers, and seed. unlike newer hybrid canes.

Morgan purple. This cane can get big. It starts small, but the nice purple
Canes can get 3-4 inch thick!

These both make awesome syrup. Or cut up and chew on them.
They're beautiful with little care.

If you want any I'll send a flate rate envelop packed full for $25 shipped. US prices.
Message me.
Thank you

Greetings, I know this thread is years old, but I came across it trying to find heirloom seeds via Google, do you still sell sugar cane seed?

Something the locals call ko (sugarcane) Halai'i

I've seen photos of sugarcane that was claimed to be variegated, but only had a lighter
color leaf midrib in a normal green leaf. This one actually has white stripes on the leaves
and the cane.

That budda belly looked nice in the photos I saw. Too bad it didn't grow. Maybe you can get the actual cane and try it.

Yeah, looks like giant grass (which it is), but not in a messy sort of way. The tapioca looks cool too with it's umbrella-like leaves.

BananaT, any chance you could post pictures of the different varieties of sugar cane you grow? I can't find pictures of the Halali, black and tan, Morgan Red or Morgan Purple. Any pictures would be great!

Thanks,
Bill
