This is a prebooking for a fabulous victoria waterlily "Longwood Hybrid". This is the famous, giant Victoria Waterlily like seen at Longwood Gardens, and Kew in England. They can easily grow leaves up to 48" here in Indiana even! These are produced from "pedigreed" seeds and they are certified as true to type and their lineage can be traced back several generations, from the collection of Kit and Ben Knotts in Florida. This is a cross of the Victoria Cruziana and Victoria Amazonica, and these have the pretty red edged leaves of the Amazonica, with the cool upturned leaf edges of the Cruziana. They are very fast growing. They do REQUIRE warm growing conditions and cannot be planted until your water temperatures reach 70-75 degrees. These plants should be ready in April or possibly late March. They are very easy to grow from transplants of the size I sell with several leaves, and all they require is some space, warm water, large planting container (if you want large leaves!), and lots of fertilizer. More information about Victoria Waterlilies can be obtained at www.victoria-adventure.org These are "truly named". I ship them only via Express mail, the price of shipping is not included, it was $25 last year, so it's probably a little more this year. PM me for more info. Sincerely, Sandy Burrell, Northern Tropics Greenhouse, Muncie, IN www.northerntropics.com Thank you! |
