Hello everyone, these are not my plants, but they are someone who I met today and he is moving to The Phillipines and leaving the US. He at one time had a huge ginger nursery and has collected almost 200 varieties. These are what he has left. He is a great guy trying to get rid of everything he has before he moves and has dropped his price to $6.00 per pot (most have 1 rhizome per pot) I would be willing to take orders and to ship to you for shipping costs if you are interested. The only thing I ask is depending on how many people order I would like some reimbursement for gas as I have to drive over an hour to pick these up. Some of these are amazing and not offered very often so I thought I would share the opportunity. I myself got over 20 from him today! Just reply or PM me if you're interested. I figured I would take orders through Sunday and then Monday I could go pick up what everyone wanted and ship out hopefully Monday or it would be a week from Monday as I work Tues, Wed, Thurs next week! He isn't shipping these, he's only selling locally, so let me know if you're interested!

As if this wasn't a tempting enough deal, the price is now being lowered to 4.00 a piece! I am going to have to go Friday and get myself some, therefore I don't mind getting some for other people. List I originally listed still applies but not sure what will be left. So, if you send me a list I'll email him and I'm sure he will hold them. Let me know! I also would be willing to hold them/store them here (only if they're hardy to zone 8b/9) for you if you buy them now and I will ship them out in the spring (my fee a rhizome out of the pot!) My thoughts behind this is they are going dormant so they won't need water through the winter as it would rot them and I can put them in my back yard and they won't take much time soooo let me know
Also, shipping could be paid whenever I ship them out in the spring :-)

OK ginger growers, a question or twp for you. I have a number of gingers here in my z7 location. Only the Dancing Crane mioga is kept outside all year, and that is the only one that blooms! I pot up the others (hedychium, curcuma, alpinia), and keep them in the family room over the winter as the foliage is beautiful. I thought they bloomed on old tissue. Anything I should be doing that I'm not?

Are we talking about true Zingiber (Ginger) species, or members of the genetic Zingiber Tribe, or the larger Linnaean taxonomical family of plants Zingiberaceae, or just any flowering plant that has the appearance of Gingers??

I'm not familiar with the taxonomy but the varieties listed are from Curcuma, Alpinia, Kaempferia, Hedychium, and also Zingiber. I am getting ready to post a list of the complete whats available as I found an investor for my nursery and now have purchased all of the gingers! I'm willing to do the same price for them if anyones interested. List to follow.
