Thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear that anyone was upset with how the contest was run.

Live and learn....several good points were raised (this is the first contest of this type I have seen on the board)...next year I will state a period wherein guesses have to be made within.

Everyone should post their ideas and I will incorporate them in a similar contest next Spring or Fall (dependent on Mother Nature).

....anyway...contest is over...I had fun with it and hopefully everyone else did as well.

I will post details (the winner) and pics tonight.

Rmplmnz, it was a fun context! Although my guess has come and gone I enjoyed it. Now I will just have to go buy store bananas, bummer!

All I can say is WOW!!!
This will be first time I've sampled any thing other than Dole..
Dad has the car all gassed up ready to come get them.. minus samples for me and mine.. :goteam:

Here are the nanners the day I got them on the 8th..






Here is just before I took them over to dad on the 10th....




They ripened up nicely!! We took pics with mom's camera and I forgot to bring it back home with me.. I will post pics of dad with his nanners as soon as I get mom's camera..

We had fun "fighting" to get the nanners off.. it was interesting to say the least!!!
The flavor.. kinda like custard.. bout the best I can describe it.. FANTASTIC!!! Dad was a little saddened when I explained the size of the plant and the fact that there is NO WAY I could grow one here..
Needless to say he loved it!!
Dad cut off about half of the nanners for me to bring home to my family.. the kids LOVED them as well!! I had one extra and shared it with a neighbor.. she said it was the best banana she had ever had!!!

I can not thank you enough for the opportunity to sample fruit I would probably not otherwise get to!!
