Hello ya'll,

The plant has arrived. Just about jumped out of my skin when I saw the package leaning against the door.

Here is the box prior to unpacking:

Unwrapping the plant:

Unwrapped corm:

This is me getting advice on how deep to plant:

Here she is in her temporary housing. I need to find the best spot to plant:

Again, this is the greatest website. Will post pictures are the growth continues. Everyone have a great week.

Re: Pisang Klotek Contest!

I have some pups, about the size of the one in the pictures. I have a couple of questions about shipping something like this. Do you cut off most of the leaves? From what I can see, there were only 2 leaves remaining. How was it sent; FedEx, United Parcel, Post Office, etc.? If it was by mail, was it Priority Mail, or regular parcel post? How big was the package? (Post office and United Parcel have surcharges for oversize packages.) How much did it cost, and how long was it in transit?
I would appreciate it if anyone could provide answers to any of these questions.
Thanks
John

This pup was shipped via UPS but I couldn't tell you how much it cost because I used my clients UPS number. The box was close to 6 feet long, about 7-8 inches thick and the plant was shipped with all the leaves. The reason it only had a few leaves was because it's a large sword pup. Most people will cut the whole plant in half only shipping about 2 feet of the corm and stem. I only shipped it the way I did because it was a contest plant and I wanted it to show up looking like a plant! I am not sure how long it took to get there. You would have to ask the new owner.
