Thanks mskitty! I have to get one of these. I will also try to get it to variegate like that at some point.
I can see this is going to be a tough job deciding which photo to place in the magazine first. That's a beautiful laterita, Brent! So many to choose from, and don't forget the Ensete perrieri plant Jeff just posted. It is in the "Trying again with Ensete perrieri (from RPS)." thread. Gorgeous! Those Musa Siam Ruby's are beautiful! I have not been able to find one in Costa Rica yet, but I imagine someone will eventually introduce them.
Here's one of my personal favorites. Ensete perrieri leaves - Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. ![]() |

Lorax,
Here are a few of the bananas I got started this past spring ('08), in SE TN. Not sure how they will overwinter, but only time will tell!!! ![]() Here is a link to a few other pics of what I have grown this past year. Not sure if any other pics are any better, but wanted to let you see and know you are welcome to any or all of pics I have in my photobucket account... randy4ut/Nanners 2008 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting |

A contest combining two of my favorite hobbies? What an excellent surprise! Here's my stab.
![]() This photograph was more about composition than subject, but it still turned out to be one of my favorites. I regret not being able to identify the species/cultivar, though I'd greatly appreciate it if one of our resident experts could give a suggestion as to what it could be. Hi-res JPEG available on demand. ![]() |

I like the composition of your photo too. It reminds me of the two stars on the front of the stage, with the rest of the troupe in the background.
