Patty too bad for your bunch

At least you got a flower, mine was just a sick leaf and it is still growing toward the sky. I guess its just not ready yet

Oh me oh my, now its twin sister is doing same...flag of a flag of the flag. Small leaf came out about 10 days ago & now a 8"er is opening. I think the flag w/ the flower is next.
This one is outside (at my house) & has a much stronger & thicker p stem so maybe I'll get a few bananas this time -- hopefully.

I'm sorry to hear about your bloom the first time. That is really surprizing! I've never even heard of that. Mine put out 21 before it got frozen.
I hope you'll have MUCH better luck with the second one. I'm not showing any sign of a flag or even a smaller leaf on my largest stalk in that mat that bloomed. But it's bigger than the one that did bloom last year already. I let that old stalk kind of shrivel up and I think the plant used it for food. It's grown so much this year already.

Well, thanks everyone!

If I get any this time, I will gladly share some w/ all of you...esp those that never had a IC/blue java nana (depending on how many I get).
I just finished the last nana from a hand of namwaw that Momo sent, & I gotta say - thanks again

! Short & fat li'l guys w/ interesting taste. The only nanas I've ever had before is chiquitas, red, & plantians from the grocery.

Do they have a grocery store called 'Hy-Vee' in your area? We have them all over Iowa (that's where they originated) but I read they have them in WI as well (though not sure how many and how far north). They always have a decent selection of naners from my experience....they typically always have gran nain, plantains, reds and baby bananas (and I saw Manzano at one). You should really try the baby bananas....they're excellent. Thin skin and very sweet. Really small, but they make up for it in flavor.
