Welcome to the fall-winter of 2007 banana contest.Reply on this thread with the number of edible banana fingers the plant(pics below) will produce.The winner will receive a Musa Pup(sword corm) of his or her choice from a LONG list of different varieties that will posted in a few days.I am in contact with the the source donating the pup,if there is more available it might be possible to have a 1st and 2nd place finish with the winner having the exclusive right to choose their MUSA of choice.The shipping should be UPS or USPS Priority to make sure the pup is still alive when it gets where it's going.The pups will ship before receiving the payment, but I would like the winner to reimburse the donor for the shipping costs asap.
It will probably cost 10, maybe 15 bucks to ship it. If someone wants to pick it up in person that's fine also.
Progress reports will be made on this thread.
Each day a new bract opens to show another set, so the contest will not run for very long... we should know the winner somewhat soon.

Reply on this thread with the number you think it will produce, and I will add your name next to the number you pick.
The person who guesses the right number, or if the exact number was not chosen, the person who came the closest will win.
Only one entry per number, and one entry per member.
If there is a tie (if nobody picked the right number but two people picked the two surrounding numbers), the person who guessed the number LESS THAN the actual number will win, for example, if the bunch ripenes with 20 and there were guesses for 19 and another for 21, the person who guessed 19 will win!)

UPDATE.......there will also be a prize for a 2nd and 3rd place finish - the two surrounding numbers will win, if not directly surrounding, then outwards in both directions, counting downwards if a tie on outside numbers.

For example, if in this scenario the winner were 20, then a, b, and d would win. d and c would tie for 3rd but since we cant have a tie, d would win since we look at the downwards number if a tie on outside numbers as stated above.
