I realize this is slightly off topic, but does anyone know if there is some sort of record (Guiness?) on the most bananas on a bunch? I think it'd be very interesting to know what it is!

We will be cutting down the raceme this weekend and I should know the total figures by Monday (perhaps) - with very sticky fingers as this variety "drools" a lot. Final count will include only those fingers outside the bracts at the time of cutting! Last guesses please!

Yeah, Taylor...I was with ya on that. First time I ever saw an ad for 1000 fingers, I was like...'yeah....riiiiight.' But apparently it's capable of over 3 TIMES that!!! (and who knows what it could potentially do!?)

Thank you all for joining in!! Bryan - fortunately a lot of the fruit are really tiny so we don't have to eat our way through them all. I guess only about 600 are big enough to bother with - about 1.5 inches long. Just as well as I have a bunch of ice creams turning yellow too!!!

Wow!!! I'm speechless! Cassie, what a job, thanks for the contest and taking the time to count all those 'naners! And thanks to all the donors of the prize "bucks"!

The pics helped a lot in my final guess. I never would have guessed that high if I hadn't seen the pics. I'm with ya'll, Who woulda thunk it!

Now, to find and fruit one of those. What a cool plant!
