(YouTube Video) Growing Bananas in Florida - Basjoo
Please check out my video. Feel free to send me any feedback or ideas for future videos. This is a Chill and Watch (no narration).
Notes: The taller one (18' overall and 13' to the growing point) is shade grown and the short ones (12' overall and 8' to the growing point) are growing in full sun. I've noticed that Basjoo tends to be shorter in full sun locations, in Florida. In the shade they get much bigger. Also, they slow down a bit in the summer as it is too hot and humid here. Like they are . As we grow them. Thanks for showing a flower and some fruit.....I do not achieve that in my zone. Locally .......at best I get( as well as many other folks) giant foliage and the plant is grown in a number of "advanced gardens' in the Ohio Vally area.
