I am SO proud! I posted here on the 10th, and man, have there been developments! I not only have a blossom, I have FRUIT!
This is so amazing how it grows almost daily at alarming speed. But my question is, I've noticed the normal leaf-after-leaf process of the plant itself has stopped once the bud and fruit arrived. Will the plant ever put up leaves again now or not??? Nananut |

NO - the flower stalk is the last thing it will ever put out. As mentioned MANY times before, after the fruit gets ripe and you cut it off (in about 4 months) you need to cut that whole trunk off level with the ground. It will eventually die if left alone but best to cut it down.

Oh, that makes me so sad. It's such a beautiful plant. It put out FIVE babies this summer, too, so I guess they continue on for it.

I would not be sad when I had a fruiting stem and 5 suckers to take it over.
