WormFarmer Got Me the PH

Pollinated by me with a electric toothbrush

I did throw in a cup of Potassium Magnesium Sulfate so they take off next year.

I left out my MooNure I used for the others to prevent rot in the cold.

-I only used about half the grow bags with the VC to keep them lower(closer to the heat mat.)
-Replanted the PH and the roots/corm looked good!
-Since Oct. I have only watered a couple times a week and no more fertilizer till next year....

Sounds like you had a good there! It's always nice to pot new TC bananas!!!
Better keep it in pretty sanitary and warm conditions, probably under bright lights in a very warm room/container as a TC can rot real easy in Fall weather...

Happy growing!

I like your idea of hand pollinating with an electric toothbrush!

Good luck with your nanners!

I'm from Hickory, to your west. I am kind of curious about your plans to get your banana plants through the winter in the future. That's a lot of banana mats and a lot of digging up plants if you are going to go that route for the winter. This is my first year experimenting with in-ground bananas. For the winter, I have placed wire cages around them, filled the cages with straw, and covered them with plastic. We have hit 29 degrees a few times this winter. I checked on my plants, and they are still alive. I wonder how they will do when we get 24-72 hour periods of below freezing temperatures.
