i'm glad we don't have to worry about cross pollination affecting organic banana crops like with gmo corn, so i am glad i can still grow my own. but i'm still curious to know how they're doing the gene splicing and where they are getting the source dna from. some of the experiments they use to create new cultivars are frakensteinish

If they are going to experiment with a crop, bananas would be the crop to do it with because they can pull it out of the environment unlike the gmo corn which will never go away. I still wouldn't want to eat one myself if I had a choice.
