Default winter protection of bananas

I live in zone 10a in southern California.

Do you all spray water on the banana plants on those real cold nights?

I now have too many in the open to try to protect. ..

How cold can it get in HZ10 and for how long? Not every bit of frost kills your plants and if the
exposed ends of a banana leaf get nipped, so what? See the discussion here:
Flag too late again...ready to just get rid of them.

If you're not growing tender varieties, you don't need it in your area. Plain and simple. You should be more concerned about the Santa Anas and wind protection.
