Winter Planning
 

I think my collection is growing large enough (in size and quantity lol), to where with my Zone 6 regionality, I don't think I can fit everything in the house, and ideally I do not want to winterize and hack the plants down.

With that being said, has anyone had any luck convincing a local nursery or conservatory to let you keep your plants there through winter months? Was just a thought I had, and was curious if anyone has successfully pulled off this maneuver or has any suggestions.

Some plant nurseries will accept plants for winter storage for a fee.
It is a business for some....you just have to find the one which will work with you.
I would inquire at your local ones and see if they will care for your plants.
It helps if your are a familiar face or a customer.
Conservatory's will not because of the possibility of pests and disease being introduced to the facility.


Main concerns for all of them are pests and disease.
Your plants have to be in top health too.
Take photos of each plant just in case.

My only negative story is a garden cohort stored his large variegated plants with pups and a few pups disappeared over winter and cuttings were taken off his other stock....but the plants looked nice:)

Check out Brians Botanicals a few miles south of you....will hold your plants.

I did a plant society refurbish at the KY:08: fairgrounds.......rose garden.

Breaking out the grill means .....do a local deep search and find out who will hold your stuff.
