Does anyone know what environmental factors control the appearance of wine marks (maroon mottling)? When I first got my M. 'Truly Tiny,' it had many wine marks but, now, there are none. And, this includes all of the plants grown from suckers off the original plant.

In my experience with wine marks it seems that light is the difference maker. Also seems that they only get them while young.

don't know what this is. bought it at a local ace hardware on a whim. as the leaf gets older the wine stains disappear. each new leaf has wine stains.

If you want to see cool wine marks mark start a plant in complete darkness.

Jamaica, although I was really hoping to find the M53. Some members are into FHIA and some are into Embrapa.

Are you growing this plant?
