Re: Will I get ripe bananas in time?
Looks like you have a good shot at it.You might have to cut them a little early, but you should still get some edible bananas . If I remember right my fastest bunch to ripen was about 5 months,it flaged early summer.

Looks great!!!
Maybe you'll score enough Santa Ana winds to keep things warm. Good luck Buddy |
Re: Will I get ripe bananas in time?
I'm in the same boat as you,my Raja Puri, just threw it's flag leaf Monday.
I have tried in the past to dig up a tree with fruit and pot up to bring inside the greenhouse, but disturbing the roots too much did them in! Good luck with yours! |
Re: Will I get ripe bananas in time?
Thanks for the well wishes. This high 90s weather must be doing all my bananas good, they're growing like crazy.
Tropicman: I used to live in Wichita, Dad got his Masters in EE at WSU, we're big Shockers basketball fan. Back in the day when Xavier McDaniel, Aubrey Sherrodd, Karl Papke, Cliff Livingston used to roam the court. We lived on Hurst Ave. |

Also, I have always asked myself if it would possible to store a plant after the appearance of the flag leaf, but before the flower. If such techniques are possible, one could simply replant in March/April and get a good bunch in the summer. |
