![]() If we are talking about being mostly or completely in the shade, not a good situation.

![]() I have never grown near pines, but dozens of other things from citrus to pecans, and have seen no issue. If it was me, I'd go for it.

![]() A friend has grown around and under very large/tall pines for years. Most his species are tall varieties also. Seem to be no issues because of them.. but of course the more sun the better with bananas

![]() I have seen plants in Florida public and private gardens grown near pines with no issues. If your thought was will pine make the soil be too acidic?
From what I have seen it is a non issue. Many gardeners /landscapers including myself will use pine straw as a decorative mulch for banana plants. Walnut trees(juglone) in the north will kill your banana plant(basjoos and most other plants) in a few years. Like the other posts before me say .....go for it. |

![]() so far mine near pine trees are awrite.
the problem I am having with a few are maple trees. I dug up 2 mats that were doing very poorly and found the roots from a maple was strangling them. wrapping roots around and around, quite a chore untangling. I have other mats close to maples and digging pups up I have seen no problems.
