Default Will Bananas Always Grow Straight Up?

The soil has settled around a few of my recently planted bananas in such a way that they have a slight lean. This got me wondering, do bananas always grow straight up? I can't really ever remember a banana growing with a lean unless it was seriously crowded. Will they straighten themselves out as their roots develop?

They grow straight up unless the plant is in the shade and the source of light is coming from only one direction. In that case, the plant will lean towards the source of light. In an open area, in the ground, the plant will grow vertically.

Unless something is blocking the growth like a rock or concrete.

Most of mine grow pretty straight up....but my Siam Ruby has a definite lean to it. It gets plenty of light and isn't any more shaded than the others, but it leans very far toward the South (even though the sun is pretty high overhead). I'm not sure why, but since it's in a container, I just rotate it 180 every so often to get it to grow more straight. Guess it's not so easy to do that to a plant in the ground, huh? LOL.
