I grew it but got rid of it! It didn't ripen the fruit any faster than any other musa I've grown, and it pupped a lot! The fruit is tasty though.

Mitchell: Do you know anybody who can do it here?
I am going to the Philippines on January 2010 and I can get a small corm to take it back with me.
Last year I was able to bring back a corm but it rotted and never did pupped.

It can't be that hard to find someone here. For starters what about Agristarts? I know several people here on the board are doing home TC'ing, maybe they'd like a shot at this?

I think Agri-Starts requires a very large number of plants to be ordered to put a new banana into TC. It would probably be easiest to find a hobbyist to do it (or someone in college like Gabe).

I have about 40 of them I produced, they are waiting to go in the ground. I think some of them already have bunchy top, but I wont know until I grow them out a bit. I would put them back in culture and make more, but I just don't have the time these days.

Im in Hawaii, I have the plants here. I have the land to grow them all out too, I've just been waiting for it to get tilled and prepped but in the meantime the greenhouse they are in got aphids and now some of them could potentially have BBTV (banana bunchy top virus). It is a very susceptible cultivar to the virus.

I no longer work at the tissue culture lab on campus, though I have access to a lab and supplies still. The issue in producing tissue cultured plants for distribution is mainly that I just have so many things going on being a full time student/normal kid that I just don't have the time of day right now to be doing tissue culture which takes a lot of setup and time to get going. I have a lot of plants Id love to offer to the group, but I just cannot make it happen right now.
