The whole thing broke off
My very healthy dwarf cavendish had a nice full bunch of bananas and this morning I found it had broken off and fell to the dirt. The leaves are healthy, the pseudo stem is firm, but the stem of the bunch was rotted at the point where the stem turns from upright to its downward position.
I have had bananas a LONG time and never saw anything like this... has anyone else? |

Re: The whole thing broke off
I've definitely seen it happen, though not on 'Dwarf Cavendish', some cultivars are more prone to it than others, in my experience it's usually been an issue of a heavy bunch and wind gusts. Normally staking the bunch with supports is enough to prevent it. It could be some other issue that led to it too, but hard to say without photos.
