Where should I cut???
I've never had to do this before, so, I need some advice, please...
I have to bring this inside for the winter soon, and, I need to reduce the height a little bit... The psuedo-stem is about 6 feet tall... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Where should I cut???
When I was in Charlotte I put a naner that size in a pot. Then crack the petioles of each leaf near the trunk. Leave cigar leaf as is till it grows out. It fits in a 8 ft ceiling room in front of a sliding glass door. South facing it gets sun. Rotate plant daily to expose all the lay down leaves. Plant grows bigger for spring planting inground. Whaalaa!

Re: Where should I cut???
Amazing, I never knew the leaves could survive being 'broken' like that. I just assumed that the plant would not be able to supply nutrients anymore.
I will have to give this a try for my viente cohol and maybe a dwarf orinoco..... Erik G |
