Where to find a Texas Star?
I live in Dallas, Texas and my success rate for winter survival was not that good this year. Granted we had the worst winter ever snow and cold wise but stil...
So I am looking at what people write about the Texas Star and am thinking it should have good survival chance in Dallas. But where can I find it? Only at Ty Ty? I want to order it from somewhere that I know I can trust to the actual Texas Star! Any advice? Thanks Peter |

Re: Where to find a Texas Star?
As far as I have discerned, it originated with Ty Ty, so there is not way to know what it really is, or even if they are all the same.

Re: Where to find a Texas Star?
I recently purchased a "Texas Star" & a "Basjoo" from these folks, with no problems. I have potted them in MG Cactus & Palm soil, & will over winter them inside. They are putting on new growth. With 21 days consecutive of 100 + temp here in Waco, I water them every day. They get morning sun & afternoon shade.

Re: Where to find a Texas Star?
I agree with Jon. Ty Ty invented "Texas Star", so if you don't trust the company, there is no reason to trust any information about "Texas Star".
If you don't have them already, get an 'Orinoco' and a 'Dwarf Orinoco'. They are tried and true winners for hardiness. Also, try 'Dwarf Namwah' if you haven't already.
