Where to buy 6-2-12 fertilizer?

Stokes no longer sells 6-2-12 fertilizer. Is there any other place that sells this fertilizer?

Just use 15-15-15. Works just as well, and is usually a lot cheaper.

Re: Where to buy 6-2-12 fertilizer?

Diamond R recommends the 6-3-16 with minors for us in S Fla cause we have so much naturally occouring P in our crappy sugar sand. Same for muck soil guys like Nick. Too much P.

If it wasn't for Ag suppliers like Diamond R I would never have grown so many naner mats at the same time. Fifty lbs for under 25 bucks - can't beat it. Buy by the pallet and it's cheaper still.:ha:

And the Chicken mix is like 15 bucks for 50 lbs.

And I get 8-4-8 at 50 lbs for all young fruit trees - cheaper still than chickn. My mangos, peaches, cherries and avocado love it.

After I posted I saw that you're in Homestead. I just got my first bunch of bananas of Dwarf Cavendish 2-3 weeks ago. I'm in Miami close to the Miami Intl Airport.

No kidding! And people wonder why the State of Florida restricts the amount of Phosphate in fertilizers sold in the state.

You guys in Dade have a Diamond R close by in Homestead. The banana fert is called the "super fruiter" --- 6-3-16.

Not only that, but you receive a lot of ocean-born rain that contains significant amounts of Nitrogen. So the horticulturists at Fairchild correctly advise a feeding program for mangos that is primarily potash and little to zero nitrogen to the locals. However we have people here on the west coast that read that recommendation and don't understand why their Mangos (e.g., in Fallbrook CA) don't perform so well.

Re: Where to buy 6-2-12 fertilizer?

Everybody would be in good shape plant wise if they did 2 simple things.

1. Join a local club. I joined the Treasure Coast Rare Fruit club.

2. Find a local knowledgeable supplier of plants and fertilizer. And follow their recommends on what to plant and what to feed it. This means not Home Despot or Lowes.

Years of wasted money and effort will be saved.

The biggest problem then will be how to eat, store, give away all the bounty.:woohoonaner:
