Default when is time to plant juvenile basjoos in the ground?

Attachment 2615Hello...I purchased to basjoos...i believe 5 weeks ago ot so. They were pretty small..not much roots..but...after replanting....and learning tips from this site..they are thriving and appear to be growing by the minute! First thing I do when I wake up is check them out and see how much they have grown overnite..its crazy! They have been slowly acclimated to full sun and have no problems being outside..full sun all day. It has got to about lower 50s a few nights..and cloudy for several days so I bought 4 Philips plant/aquarium T8 bulbs to keep em growing. I have 4 more juveniles coming so I fig th lights may help in acclimation...I have been feeding them bottled rain water I have stored from frequent rains..also ordered nana fuel from Richard. I have holes dug but am still a little nervous to stick in the ground prematurely. Thanks.

Sorry to tell you this but your nanner doesn't look like a basjoo. Maybe dwarf Cavendish. Either way wait til last frost to plant.

Cool Re: when is time to plant juvenile basjoos in the ground?

I was also going to say that your photo does not look like Basjoo. I have a Canvendish growing right now that looks exactly like your photo. Whatever it is it look healthy. Good luck!

Is there a way to tell if this is a dwarf or a regular? I am concerned about how to winterize thus species...if uts small I can put in spare bedroom high ouput t5 lights and keep it ok spring rolls around to be back outside.
