Default When to plant in e texas

Its finally warm enough to put the naners back in the ground. Unfortunately our rainy month is about to hit. Can I put them in the ground even though the rain season will be here in april? or will that cause root rot?

Thick clay. I till it up and mix with sandy loam. my concern is that I can only till so deep and that the water will settle at the bottom where I cannot till. I just don't want to end up planting way too late in the season like I did last year because I was worried about the rain.

Nana roots don't go deep - make a mound - my best mats were planted on old manure piles

Texas grower here, get them in the ground. I leave mine in the ground all year and wrap and mulch and have minimal loss. As long as they are not just sitting in water they will be ok.

Happy growing,
Darla
