I really don't know. I had meant to say that I have NOT seen enough in the 2 years I've been growing so it could be anything. I do know it was a major slowpoke as I planted it as a really nice pup when Lou Ferrigno was a tissue culture. If I stay in this house I think I'm putting a blue java in that spot.

Massive Dwarf Namwa Flower showing eight hands so far with first five countable hands containing 22 fingers per hand. This is my first DN Flower so looking forward to comparing it with my TN's. The female flowers are very purple which is quite different from the beige flowers on my TN's.

The Goldfinger was huge! 22 inch bloom on BOTH. 6 hands on each. I'm really impressed with the goldfinger, will be planting it more in the yard. It's a bulletproof plant for Florida. It's now pupping like crazy.

Yeah this winter we got a frost and they lost most of their leaves. Glad they were able to produce as much as they did! Maybe this year will be a good yr with no frost.

Great looking Goldfinger bunch Janelle!

Are the banana fingers typically the same size as store bought Cavendish or 1/2 to 3/4 size like Namwa, Brazilian, etc.? Thanks.

Right now they are 5-6 inches, last year they were more like 4 inches but that was the first bunch.

I think it was just because I hadn't built up the soil health before planting it, so that mother wasn't very healthy and I had to harvest a bit early due to it losing all of it's leaves early. It bloomed in June right on time. So I'm definitely a fan of mulching, bananas love good rich soil. Florida is basically sand and silt.

What variety is that? If it’s Velutina the plant and the bud are darker then mine I grow.

Supposed to be Musa sikkimensis
Correction… I found the label and it says Velutina
