Absolutely the pup from la Verne I received was directly cut from a mother plant that finished fruiting that had bluish silver ice cream fruit, this was on there property not from a retail store. I know the owner due to some movie/tv shows we done with there nursery before. Not sure on yours though I can only speak on the pup I received. When did you get the la Verne BJ , WoW this sounds wrong!

I am no expert at all and consider myself still a banana newbie who has spend lots of hours on here and on the www to learn about "Musa" but compared side by side the BJ from Jon and the BJ from "La Verne" show significant differences. Actually the La Verne one has more red in its p-stem and mid-ribs than I have blush in my make-up kit.....

I bought mine last year in May. It is getting some good height, but far from fruiting. Will keep you all posted.
How about yours? When did you get yours? Has it fruited for you yet or is it getting close to it?
Are they doing their own tissue culturing? If not, it is a little hard to imagine for me that they can produce thousands of pups to satisfy their Big Box store Home Depot and Lowes customers all over the Pacific West.
But we will see...

Those fingers are gorgeous. What height do your GM's typically fruit?

This one is a bit higher than the one I just harvested, which was taller than the two last year. Maybe 10-12'.

Okay, I concede, but I will stubbornly refuse to go on a rose diet.

Probably not. Was purchased as a Raja Puri. Gets taller every year but still not as tall as I've read they can get.

Njalipoovan is about 12' tall

The hua moa actually has 3 hands, I suspect it's a bit small because it's growing in a sandy spot. There is another one in sandy marl that produced a bunch with no fingers.

The third picture is also a Hua Moa.

RP looks good for first bunch. This time of year you should be harvesting when the fingers fill in in 3 or 4 months. You are gonna like the flavor of this guy. Let the follow on get going good by removing all pups but one small one.
