Well, after years of feeling inadequate, I am finally able to post in this thread. My first banana flower!! I have arrived!! My Ensete glauca has thrown 2 flag leaves, and today I found the flower bud!! But I now can feel the pain of others, as I wanted to see this guy get some real size this summer. So I guess I'll have to look for an inevitable replacement.

My dwarf Brazilian is apparently getting ready to bloom. I was looking for a flag leaf, but
the one I saw looked pretty much like a regular one, but about 1/3 the size of the others.
I was wondering if it was lacking some nutrients.

Flag leaf is the little one slightly left of center. Tilted the camera for better angle since
the other leaves were in the way.

After 4 days I saw this slightly colored cone shaped thing poking up. Must be a flower bud.

I certainly know the feeling!!! Now I want to have one of my edible naners flower early enough so that the bananas can ripen.
