2 new bloomers.

Pisang Ceylan, 13 months from planting. My first for this one. Looking forward for tasting.

Dwarf Cavendish

How many days/months for Dwarf Cav to ripen from blooming in sub tropical conditions??.
It is now close to summer so will ripen in good growing conditions.

Cheers

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

That is the first D Brazilian I have seen that looks like what I have. The rachis is somewhat messy but the flower petals don't stay and it even has a clean area... Just like the ones I have. Every other DB I have seen has a much messier rachis with all the petals remaining. That has led me to question if I actually have a true DB. see mine here...

Steve, the pseudostem on your plant looks much too slender to be Dwarf Brazilian. DB is a much stouter plant than yours appears to be. Notice also how narrow the male bud is on yours, with very little imbrication. Yours in not DB.
