![]() You can only have one kind of banana for the rest of your life... If all else were equal, as in, all bananas were exactly the same (Looks, size, ease to grow, cold tolerance, etc.) and eating qualities such as flavor and texture were the only difference, what banana would you be eating?
Since this is for fun and will not likely ever happen, you may post a top 3 (in order)... ![]()

![]() I thought this would be an interesting thread, but I seem to be nearly alone in that.

![]() I'm surprised the people who buy the boxes have not chimed in. I'm still in the testing phase myself. So far I like this orange sweet juicy plantain best but i don't what kind it is.

![]() It is but, you know, you're kind of new here and it's, let's say, déjà vu...
You have to be patient... And it's prep time for the season so many are busy these days... |

![]() Muraru, any Maoli-Popo'ulu (half-ripe, steamed), and Namwah (one of the most versatile types I've worked with).
It's hard to pick just a few, there are so many different wonderful kinds, and some lend themselves particularly well to certain types of eating uses beyond just raw-ripe fruit, such as: juice, wine/beer, syrup, dried etc...

![]() Sorry, folks. When I think of bananas, I think dessert types.. I just moved to Florida from central Illinois after 48 years, born and bred in the heart of farm country. Nobody there cooks bananas. I like plantain chips and cooked plantains and bananas, but find they must be freshly cooked to be good.
I grew banana plants in Illinois as well. Don't have a clue what kind as I never even dreamed of fruiting anything there. I just stuck em in the ground because I thought they looked cool, and dug them and put them in buckets in my basement for the winter. I love them dried. Banana wine and beer? I don't know about that.

Yeah, flip flops and dog **** don't mix... Lol! We all do crazy things for bananas! For me, it was a mix of chicken **** fermenting in stagnant water from a longtime clogged up sceptic tank! With flip flops on!!! True story, sadly... |
