![]() Hi all, lets be superficial for a second. Besides the variegated banana varieties what do you consider the best looking fruiting banana varieties? I already grow eleven varieties of bananas and among them I consider my Dwarf Red and Red Iholene my best looking. I really like the red in the Dwarf Red leaves and Pseudostem and love the maroon on the bottom of the new leaves on the Red Iholene. I have an AeAe on order that I'm going to pickup next month but I would like to add a couple other really good looking varieties. The fruit doesn't have to be the best but definitely edible. Any advice?
Thanks, Bill |

If someone said to me, "im going to give you the most favourable banana climate in the world but you can only keep one banana plant" The only banana i would keep is musa red kru, it is such a beautiful banana and in my opinion nothing touches it, the bio red/green p- stem is unmatched by any banana has wonderful colour undrerside of the leaves and red splashes on the top on young plants. Fruit has shades of red and green on and grows in a angle, one of the best tasting going by people who have managed to fruit it. I am on the hunt for my 4th Red Kru even though i have struggled to get the previous three past six months, as it is a very tender banana. Last edited by mushtaq86 : 04-23-2018 at 06:27 AM. |

![]() I've seen pictures of the Kru. It definitely is beautiful but it does appear to be very cold sensitive. I don't think I could grow it here in Southern California. I'm going to have to look into Fe'i.
