Default What kind of banana i can plant here?

Hi everyone! I don't know nothing about bananas... so what kind of banana species i can grow here in central Portugal with min temp between -4 to -3C? I'd like a very sweet, sedless and cold hardy var. Thank you so much, Luis.

You can grow Orinoco, Namwah (Dwarf Namwah), and Raja Puri, maybe others w/ some protection. Your Minus 3 is what I had for a low last winter.. Goldfinger, Misi Luki need protection.. I'm testing a couple more this winter.. I don't think its the -3C but how long it stays that way.. :^)

Never stays that low for much time... never during the day. I remember we get -1 or -2C for 4 nights straight but +3C during the day...

Grow 3 or 4 Dwarf Namwah, so that each year one of them blooms in time to ripen before Fall. If you have a night of sustained temperatures below +2C, they will need protection. Do not let the ground around them freeze on top. If they are in pots the soil should not drop below 7C.
