You have to keep them above freezing, indoors, in a basement, in a greenhouse, or wherever. Store the pseudostems, pot them up and bring them indoors or whatever gets them above freezing, and better yet, probably above 45F..

Post a pic of them so we can see what they are. If Basjoo just cut them to the ground and mulch over them, put dirt over them, leaves, tarps. Some ideas for you.

I put mine away today. I prefer to leave the stem in-tacked but that may be wrong. Some people may suggest cutting down to corm? I take them inside regardless of size, within limits. If you have to cut off, do it. I took wood shavings I got from a Tractor Supply store and put small ones it boxes in layers. Shavings, plant, shavings plant ect. Large ones in burlap bags surrounded by shavings. This in intended to protect the plants, absorb moisture, and keep the plants from touching each other to prevent rot. I hope this sparks some ideas and comments.

How many years have they been growing in your location and what did you do in the past with your plants?
And how did you get so many?
What is your secret.

Been in this location 36 years, bannas ever since with same procedure. Changed procedure last year to a friends heated garage that ended up not heated. Froze and killed all.
