This is the last Banana I planted in my garden a nice Musa basjoo 'Rubra'
It is not my best picture but you can se the reddish stem and the red midrib.I hope this form is as cold-hardy as the two other M. basjoo (regular and shakalin) that have survived winter in my garden Last edited by barna : 06-27-2007 at 05:27 PM. Reason: cahnge url adresse |

Received the banana fertilizer I ordered. Gave the plants the recommended dose and added some top soil. Looking forward to a better growing plant with this improvement. I've got one that has two small pups, should I remove these and plant alone? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

You kiddin ?
I'm ready to build an ark over here and put two pups of each of my bananas in it ! I got floaties on when I go into my garden ! I pull my garden tools and fertilizer behind me in a pirogue ! No , seriously , I 'm seeing some good growth with all of this rain and I have not had to turn the irrigation on in weeks .

I just potted a 'Truly Tiny' into one of my hydro pots. I had been waiting for a pup to get large enough to take off and it finally made it. I have several 'Truly Tiny' and 'Little Prince' in pots that I have been dividing and now have one of each in the hydro.
My larger plants, "Gran Nian" and "Dwarf Orinco" were potted up to the Earthbox's a few weeks ago and are doing great. |

Thanks Diana!
That is my daughter and grandbabies.. They have been here for 3 weeks and just left this morning...boohoo!!!..Everyone took a banana tree with them...My grandson is 3 and got the biggest one... he has been watering it everyday... We live way out in the country and his aim (if you know what I mean...LOL) sucks!!! So I send him outside to water a banana more than a few times a day!!! His is growing faster than the others...LOL Kylie ![]() |

Not a bad week!
One of my Mysore is blooming, it's really nice, the flag leaf has a red stripe down the middle, the midrib. It really stands out! Pics forthcoming tomorrow.. |
