Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
Looks like the batch of dwarf Namwa which recently came out of Agristarts with what seems to be some kind of virus or nutritional issue.

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
From what little I can see of the petioles they do not appear to be M. basjoo, they do look more like Orinoco to me. This type of light variegation is a common tissue culture off type.

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
Holy smoke, if confronted with such a spectacle I'd buy them all first and ask questions later! If only things like this happened here in the UK.
I too read about the Basjoo with leaf markings like this, as an English seller had one for the equivalent of $30, complete with the warning that the markings could even out to all green at any time. Will be interested to see what the consensus of opinion is here on what exactly they are. |

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
That's pretty cool, I definitely would have bought one. Never mind that I have no room for it!

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
you would think the pots and tags would say what they are. and all the tags are flipped over you cant see them.

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
It would be interesting to see what would happen if you just stuck some epson salt in the pots.... and they would probably green up and that would be gone in a second.

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
It is in the ground and all supplemented up. I can hopefully post in a couple weeks if it greens up or stays this way. If it stays then I got a nice variegated for $6.77 and if it greens then I am stuck with another mystery banana. If Gabe is right and it is Orinoco that would be cool for me if it stayed because I like Orinoco and variegated.

Re: At Walmart in Inverness and...
If it stays variegated you could probably sell some pups, I'll make room!
